Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first title for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

Medvedev, a former number one, has experienced a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - led to him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court from March of the previous year.

The win also means he has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I achieved when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

His retrieving play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led commentators to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serve.

He recovered from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the final five points to take the lead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.

The opponent defended 4 initial break points in a close third set before the champion broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
